Course Overview

This course introduces you to the fun and challenge of using a symmetrical spinnaker. A great introduction to spinnakers to make you more confident for the Australia Day Regatta the following week.

The course is over one full day on Boss Ross. As it does not cover asymmetrical spinnakers you will not be eligible for the certificate from Australian Sailing. We hope to run the second day of the course covering asymmetrical spinnakers later in the year.

The course is restricted to members of WYC.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident, and the skills, knowledge and experience gained in at least the Start Crewing and Start Helming courses.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who have grasped fundamental sailing skills and want to learn how to use spinnakers; asymmetrical and/or symmetrical. 

Course Outcome

You will gain your Spinnakers completion certificate.
